The view is great, but the route is very demanding: you often have to climb the rocks, and it's even more difficult in some places; it's almost entirely made up of loose, slippery little rocks, dangerous when descending. I've done the E5 from Oberstdorf to Italy twice. From my experience, I can say that this route is only for very experienced hikers with excellent physical control.
