The appearance of the Cypriot colony in Ernestinovo marked not only the logical sequence of the Cypriot tradition in Slavonia, but Smajić's fundamental and integral work and his creativity.

Even today, after 44 years, the Cyprus colony resists and defies time. Every year in August, enthusiastic artists, painters, and sculptors gather in the Sculpture Park in Ernestinovo, and diligently carve their marks into the Slavonian oak with a chisel. Made sculptures are placed in the park itself, and along the main street in Ernestinovo. Thanks to the enthusiasm of a small group of people, but not ordinary people, Ernestinovo is widely known for its unique Cypriot naive colony.
