The Lutterbeker Schmiede was built in 1628 and is one of the oldest buildings still standing in Lutterbek. The forge was first mentioned in documents at the beginning of the 19th century. It has been owned by the Brockmann family since 1851.The Alte Schmiede has been "operated" by the Alte Lutterbeker Schmiede e.V. association since 2005 and demonstrations of the art of blacksmithing are held there. The Lutterbeker straw figures are also made here. The website with documentation of the forge, the production of the straw figures and the opening times with the demonstrations is interesting.
