The "Zénobe Gramme" will sound familiar to many: it is the name of the oceanic research vessel built in 1960-1961 (also the only sailing ship) of the Belgian navy. Until 1970, the ship investigated the sea currents and the formation of sandbanks off the coast, but also the acoustic profile of German minesweepers and pollution by hydrocarbons. The Zénobe Gramme was given the motto "Quarendo invenies" (He who seeks will find).
From 1970, the ship was used as a school and training ship for non-commissioned officers and officers and for representation assignments.
