The history of the Schlachtmühle has been documented since 1722. At that time, Jürgen Spanhoff and Heinrich Siaucken from Norden received permission from the government of Anhalt-Zerbst - the Jeverland belonged to this principality from 1667 to 1793 - to build a "pearl-groats mill" east of the former Jever harbor (Schlachte). In October 1732, the mill burned down, but was rebuilt in 1733. In 1798, the Schlachtmühle was the only pellet mill in the Jeverland.
