The Orangery was built at the beginning of the 18th century during the reign of Landgrave Carl based on the French model. The main building is almost 140 meters long and the long galleries served as banquet halls. In the cold season, the orange trees and other potted plants from the so-called Orangery Garden were overwintered in the castle. The two corner pavilions, the marble bathroom and the kitchen pavilion, were used by the Landgrave and his wife as a summer residence
