The Sky of Salamanca is an impressive mural painting attributed to Fernando Gallego, dating from the 1480s1. It originally decorated the vault of the former Library of the Escuelas Mayores at the University of Salamanca. This work depicts a part of the celestial firmament, including zodiacal signs, constellations and planets, following the iconography of the Poeticon Astronomicon.
Today, it is located in the Patio de Escuelas Menores, where it can be contemplated by visitors. The painting was rediscovered in 1901 and restored in 1952, when it was moved to its current location.
