You can reach the small pass Puerto de la Bolina coming from Comares towards Puerto del Leon. If you turn off at the pass to Olias, he also feels like a pass. It is nice but to take the branch to the right. Another 6 km is up. At the intersection there is the nice restaurant Venta Galway. From there you can now go to Puerto del Leon or you drive towards Colmenar and Riogordo (still a short distance uphill and then) on a beautiful descent.

Road cycling

There's a pretty steep section (~17%) not long before the summit, but it's pretty short; otherwise, it's a steady climb. Lacks vegetation for most of its length, so maybe don't tackle it in the summer early afternoon...
