Hiking
It is one of the oldest nature reserves in North Rhine-Westphalia. Its characteristic black color, caused by the humic substances in the moor vegetation, makes the lake appear quite gloomy even on sunny days. But the impression is deceptive: the nutrient-poor water is home to many endangered animal and plant species.
