The pass is located at the foot of the 3070m high Chüebodenhorn and directly next to the Chüeboden glacier and its glacial lake. The Geren Pass forms a connection between the Val Bedretto and the Geren Valley in Upper Valais, although there are no marked hiking trails across it.
