The Vukovar massacre (Croatian: Pokolj u Vukovaru), also called the Ovčara massacre (Pokolj na Ovčari), was a war crime committed by members of various Serbian paramilitary groups and the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA),[1] during the Croatian War of Independence.
The massacre of over 250 civilians and prisoners of war from the Vukovar hospital took place immediately after the Battle of Vukovar and the subsequent occupation of the city on 20–21 November 1991 on the site of the former Ovčara farm near Vukovar.
