In the morning I pedal,
The Neckar glitters beside me,
A river that still whispers in the city streets: "I am here."
The sun sparkles on the waves,
The air is cool, my breathing is heavy,
But plastic waste and old barrels
Float sadly behind.
I ride on, see boats,
The ducks swim through the dirt,
The Neckar, once so clear, so big,
Often seems hidden in the grey of the world.
The cars thunder on the bridges,
The smoke clouds my vision,
The people rush instead of looking,
How nature breaks its life.
