Housesteads is the most complete Roman fort that survives in Britain. Set high on a dramatic escarpment on Hadrian's Wall, there are spectacular panoramic views from this point. Housesteads Roman Fort was thought to have been built around AD 124 and formed an important part of Emperor Hadrian's Wall.
