The view from the bridge to both sides of the Ache opens up impressive perspectives for cyclists and hikers.

Truly beautiful to look at in both directions from the bridge. Part of the larger nature reserve west of Bregenz.

The Bregenz Oh is an influx of Lake Constance from the Austrian Vorarlberg. Several hydroelectric power plants are used to generate electricity. The river was a traffic engineering challenge, especially for the farmers of the region, as the unpredictable river was safely passable only in a few places, which led to the construction of bridge structures.

The Bregenzer Ach (also Bregenzer Ache or Bregenzerach) is a about 67 kilometers long tributary of Lake Constance in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg.

An interesting highlight, which happens "inevitably" when you cycle around Lake Constance (preferably).

Every cyclist who cycles around Lake Constance takes at least three photos on this bridge. One of the lake, the second of the mountains, and the third, the most important, of their companion in front of the thousand love locks.

A magnificent structure with fantastic panoramic views. The new pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Bregenzerache River opened in spring 2011. The route leads from the center of Hard over the bicycle bridge and a new section of track to the Neu-Amerika sports center, and from there into Bregenz's city center.

When heavy rainfall in the Bregenzerwald causes the river to swell in a short period of time, the primal power of the water becomes clear. Then the Bregenzerach demonstrates its wild nature. In the past, people feared the floods more than they do today, and these floods all too often devastated the estates of the Hofsteig farmers. In 1542, the Ach even swept away the deceased in the Hard cemetery and swept them away. After the cemetery was flooded, the municipality of Hard demanded that the fight against flooding be fought jointly with Lauterach and Wolfurt. These initially resisted, as they were less severely affected. Nevertheless, in 1544, the sovereign issued the first flood control ordinance: all owners of cultivated land along the river were required to contribute to the Ach control. The Mehrerau Monastery and the Bregenz Timbermen's Association, whose floated timber had repeatedly damaged the riverbanks, also contributed to the costs. Nevertheless, the river remained unpredictable. In June 1910, catastrophic floods devastated many regions in Europe. The communities along the Ach River were not spared either: The waters flooded meadows and fields, sweeping away buildings and bridges. This prompted renewed efforts to advance flood protection. Riverbank protection was continuously reinforced until the 1970s. (...from information board)
