La Cova Tallada is a jewel of nature on the Costa Blanca. It is a cave at sea level itself.

  • La Cova Tallada is a unique place to visit if you are in the Denia or Jávea area.
It is a cave at sea level so it can also be accessed from the water. If you are walking, it will be necessary to use the chains anchored in the rock, so you must be very careful to enjoy the experience!
Its most relevant curiosity is that it was created by humans between the 12th and 14th centuries. It has a natural pool, incredible arches that make it a unique and special place.
Today it also offers various activities, among them you can hire a kayak tour or caving with authorized guides.

  • A beautiful view! Not Easy to Access. Nothing for people who are afraid of height.

  • The view is wonderful. Allow a bit more time because you are not so fast because of the heat. Sturdy shoes are absolute duty. Like marksmanship. It was worth it.

  • Very nice, but also challenging hiking trail, along the coast to the cave.
At low tide the cave, or grotto, is accessible.

  • It is possible to climb on a rocky outcrop and jump from this into the water. Climb the ledge through a small piece or walk around the cave and climb up.

  • Great place for diving too

  • Very narrow and uneven path along hillside, with steep drop to sea on one side, and many trip and fall hazards. Steep steps down in places with no hand holds, and rock scrambles in others, with knotted ropes and chains to assist.

  • The cave is worth a visit. The path to the cave looks worse on some photos than it really is. Although it has 3 rope insured passages on the way to the cave, the paths are not exposed. I only used the rope at the cave to pull myself up (it would work without a rope, but it's definitely easier with a rope). Even if you stand when descending to the cave, it looks worse than it is from above. Nevertheless, good shoes are recommended.
