The Milan Gate in the old town of Löffingen is the only one of the original three medieval city gates that have been preserved, which secured access to Löffingen. After a major fire in Löffingen in 1921, the Mailänder Tor was also badly damaged, but it was rebuilt with a larger passage. The Löffingen lantern brothers' guild of fools has set up a guild room in the Milan Gate.

The Milan Gate has nothing to do with the city of the same name in Italy, it is a shortening of Maienland - the Maienland road even leads out of the city through the only surviving of originally three city gates.
