The Pink Lagoon of Torrevieja “Laguna Salada de Torrevieja” is one of the two famous salt lagoons in the Parque Natural de las Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja. It is particularly known for its unusual pink color, which is due to the interaction of special types of algae and microorganisms. These microorganisms produce a reddish pigment that intensifies in certain lighting conditions and gives the lagoon its characteristic color.

A visit at sunrise or sunset intensifies the pink tones even more, so that the lagoon glows in intense colors.
