The Dutch Cheese Museum is located in the center of the cheese town of Alkmaar in the listed weighing house. The museum, founded in 1983, is dedicated to the production of dairy products through the centuries, trade and life in the country. The collection includes historical objects used in the production of dairy products, film and image material and paintings (including 24 portraits of Dutch women from the 16th century). In 2014, the museum was reorganized in a modern way and is therefore also very suitable for children. The museum is wheelchair accessible.
