For those who don't want to go to the nearby La Baita refuge, this plain in front of the church of San Bernardo is the ideal place:
beyond the stream in a magnificent meadow there are some tables where I stopped more than once to have a picnic. On one side of the church there is a fountain with fresh water, and some space if the day is windy and you want to stay sheltered.
