This tree is embraced by a species of liana that takes advantage of the strength of this large tree plant to survive.
The needs of the inhabitants of these cold areas in winter meant that this species was collected en masse as wood to keep warm and to make the picón, which due to its physical characteristics was very appropriate for this purpose.
