The Józef Piłsudski Monument in Warsaw was erected by the Citizens' Committee for the Construction of the Monument in 1990. Initially, it was planned to be placed at Na Rozdrożu Square, where a commemorative plaque was installed, but the monument was eventually placed on the grounds of the Citadel and later moved to Józef Piłsudski Square. The monument was designed by Tadeusz Łodziana and made of bronze and granite at the Gdynia Naval Shipyard. The ceremonial unveiling took place on August 14, 1995, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw. The monument is located on Michał Tokarzewskiego-Karaszewicza Street, facing Piłsudski Square. It is one of three Piłsudski monuments in Warsaw. The others are located at the Academy of Physical Education and at the Belweder Palace.
