Very little is known about the bunker in Stavoren. This would be an observation post used to spot Allied bombers who might be en route to Leeuwarden air base. The bunker was built around 1942-1943 and blown up by the Germans themselves on the day Stavoren was liberated. The bunker was therefore very large and covered the entire dike. Today only the Tobruk of the bunker remains.
