The only lost place on the Fortuna mine site. The outlines of the property above the engine room and the mine elevator can still be seen, even if they are overgrown. All that remains is the goat shed. The head miner lived here with his family until the mine closed, isolated from the settlements of Oberbiel, Niederbiel and Hermannstein. In 1945, a robbery and murder took place here, which was never solved.

Mountain biking

Beautiful destination above the Fortuna mine. Most people probably only know the lower area. Just go up the steep hill after the restaurant. If you then drive left through the forest, you will come back to the asphalt road towards Oberbiel.
