The wide Rindby beach offers kite enthusiasts an ideal kite flying area all year round.

Every year in June, during the Kite Fliers Meeting, kite flyers from all over the world meet here.

In addition to large show kites, you can admire delicate homemade kites. Replicas of historical kites can also be seen in the sky, and kite flyers show off their skills.

One of the world's largest kite meetings takes place every year for 14 days in June. 5000 kites and their drivers meet year after year and hold a kite party on Fanø. Come and join in!

Fanø is known all over the world as one of the best places to fly a kite. For this reason, a large kite meeting is held every year, known by the famous name Fanø International Kite Fliers Meeting, which attracts kite enthusiasts from all over the world. It all started in 1985 with Wolfgang Schimmelpfennig from Hamburg. He went to Fanø with some friends and enjoyed kite flying so much that he came back the following year with even more friends. Wolfgang is still the genius behind the event and is very keen not to make a business out of it, but to remain independent, innovative and fun. The social event brings together old friends who are seen year after year at the kite festival, sharing their great passion. That's why the festival is all about coming together and enjoying the sight of other people's impressive homemade kites.
