The Mumbecker Bach is fed by many small tributaries from the Dingden Heath and the Venn. The surface water from the heath (which often has layers of clay underneath) also collects in the stream. The stream first appears on the "Hoogenkamp/ corner of Fääne" road in the Büngernsche and Dingden Heath. (Seen from the viewing platform "Zum Schießstand" in a SW (south-west) direction. It then runs through the "wet and wet grassland", crosses the buffalo pasture, leads under the "Zum Venn" road and reaches the wooded area above the "Alte Schäferei" hiking car park. Here it meanders idyllically along until another watercourse joins it. The hiking trail is now about 20 m higher than the stream itself and you have a fantastic view of it from above. Then it reaches the former fairytale forest in "Drießens Busch". Here the stream and the old trees provide wonderful coolness in summer. There are also a few benches along the hiking trail so you can enjoy this wonderful atmosphere.
