Location: Udler, Vulkaneifel, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
Between the places Schalkenmehren in the north and Udler in the south west of the Alfbach on the Maare-Moselle-Radwanderweg the approximately 16 -acre nature reserve (NSG) "Sangweiher". The Unterschutzstellung took place in 1983.
Due to its supraregional importance for nature conservation, the sangweiher was included in the European protected area system NATURA 2000 (bird sanctuary). Funding from the EU and the country has contributed to favorable territorial development.

Migratory birds can also be observed in spring and autumn. In addition to the osprey, this also includes various types of waders that go foraging in the extensive silt areas of the Sangweiher.

The Sangweiher bird sanctuary is located in a hollow near Daun. In the Middle Ages, the two creeks flowing through were dammed into a ten-hectare area of water and used for fish farming.
