The Maare Mosel cycle path is one of the most famous and beautiful railway cycle paths in Germany. The route leads from the Moselle valley through the mountains of the Vulkaneifel on the old railway line between Bernkastel-Kues and Daun. Without much effort on the asphalt and largely traffic-free cycle path, it goes through four long, illuminated tunnels, over two large viaducts. You have to leave the cycle path to get to the maars, only the Holzmaar is right next to the route.
