The Marum family has shaped the development of Sobernheim more than any other family. The new administrative building of the municipality now stands on the cellars of the former Marum house, directly opposite the train station. The path to the synagogue leads through Marum Park, the former private garden of the Marum family that was later donated to the city, past the memorial stone for Arnold Marum, the great-grandson of Sarah Marum, the founder of the stocking factory, and through Marumstrasse itself.
