The church, located on Via Cesare Cantù near Porta Torre, is part of the Liceo Volta complex built on the site of the old Augustinian monastery. The exterior facade corresponds to the central part of the high school facade, slightly protruding. The entrance to the church is preceded by the elegant portico on marble columns above which are two niches with the images of religion and philosophy. In the upper tympanum there is a bust with the image of S. Abbondio. Above the archived portal is a stucco bas-relief depicting the Madonna and Child.
