Cycling

Due to the population increase in stock exchanges after the Second World War was built in Börnsen 1962, the Holy Cross Church, which got its name from a no longer preserved medieval chapel. The construction of the church was carried out according to a design by the architect Friedrich-Wilhelm Heyne from Aumühle. To decorate the new church, the concrete glass-enclosed Dallglas windows contribute to designs by the Hamburg painter Hanno Edelmann. In 1970 Börnsen received its own pastorate, but remained part of the parish Hohenhorn.

Hiking

A somewhat hidden beautiful viewpoint behind the church with a small wooden bench and great views when the trees have no leaves. Otherwise the surrounding trees will unfortunately hinder the view. The climb down from Börnsen up the Kirchweg is very steep! If you like it easier, go here from the Dalbekschlucht, this is a route without steep inclines.
