This chapel was built around 1968 by order and with the help of the Denruyter family living near the tram line that connected Aarschot-Tielt and Tienen. Elias Denruyter and Maria Nijs had the chapel built in gratitude for the recovery of their son, Jean, who was seriously injured in an accident with a steam tram in the street.

The chapel is dedicated to Our Lady. It is a pillar chapel built in stone with a niche from which the original statue of Mary, brought from Lourdes, has disappeared.
