The mill of Mettekoven on the Herk is in fact located just in the grand area of Groot-Gelmen, under the jurisdiction of the Gelinden justice, but close to the border with Mettekoven, on the Herk. It was called the "Mettecoven mill" because it connected with the community of that village and was used by it for grinding its grain. The dismantled metal overshot wheel is set up in the front garden. The interior has disappeared. The stream has been diverted and now runs under the road. This mill existed before 1300. In September 1968, the mill wheel was unfortunately removed and the mill house was renovated and converted into a residence.
