Saint John the Theologian, Kaneo (Macedonian: Свети Јован Канео, Latin: Sveti Jovan Kaneo) or simply Saint John of Kaneo is a Macedonian Orthodox church on the cliff above Kaneo Beach overlooking Lake Ohrid in the city of Ohrid in North Macedonia. The church is dedicated to John of Patmos, the author of the Revelation of John, who is believed by some to be the same person as the Apostle John. The date of the church's construction is unknown, but documents describing the church site suggest that it was built before 1447. Archaeologists believe that the church was built sometime before the rise of the Ottoman Empire, most likely in the 13th century. During restoration work in 1964, frescoes were discovered in its dome
