"At the fork in the road Oberprether Mühle/Udenbreth there was a meeting point for workers from the mine "Grube Wohlfahrt" (Rescheid). The workers were on the road for 16 hours a day, working 14 hours, 2 hours there and back.
The working conditions at that time were very hard and extremely dangerous. There were many accidents, often with fatal consequences. With the greeting "Glück Auf" the miners wish them a safe and sound return."
