After about 10 minutes it bends to the left, towards the Eldborg crater, visible from afar. The path is beautifully constructed through the otherwise hardly common Eldborgrhaun. The slab lava, which is around 1000 years old, is covered with dense vegetation. The dwarf birches, which have settled between the lava blocks, offer the many birds protection, and the forest, wicker and crow berries that have grown between them provide them with food.
