London longest pier: a great place to sit, relax, take pictures.

The first wooden pier in Erith was opened on August 22, 1842. In 1957, the wooden pier became unusable and a new boomerang-shaped concrete pier was built, approximately 360 meters long. Then, in 1999, a Morrisons supermarket was built on the site of the old deep wharf, retaining the pier as a public amenity.

Concrete pier built in 1957 to replace an older wooden pier, the pier is 360 metres long. It was used through the 60s and 70s for shipping, before being abandoned by the 90s. The Morrison's supermarket across from it was built in 1999, and retained the pier as a public amenity. Good place to walk out and see the Thames.
