Immediately next to the Schlarper Heidelbeerhütte is an old narrow-gauge railway that ran along the narrow-gauge railway line built in 1896 between Bramburg in Adelebsen and the train station in Volpriehausen. Basalt stones were transported with this train. Volpriehausen was on the Northeim-Ottbergen railway line, which was inaugurated in 1878. After the Göttingen-Bodenfelde railway line was built around 1910, the narrow-gauge railway lost its importance and was dismantled again in 1920.
