Another work of the insurgents - the "Korfanty" armored vehicle, was built in Sosnowiec. Its creator was Robert Oszek, a navy lieutenant. "Korfantego" was assembled in three days, probably on the chassis of a truck that the insurgents commandeered from the "Baildon" steelworks. The armor was made of thick steel plates taken from the steelworks. Its construction was invented by Robert Oszek.
The car weighed 6.5 tons. It was nearly 6 meters long and could accommodate 9 people. It was armed with 5 guns. Lieutenant Oszek took command of the vehicle, directing it towards Mount St. Anna.
The armored "Korfanty" took part in fierce battles for Góra św. Anna, Krępna, Żyrowa, Lichynia, Leśnica, in the battles of Sławięcice, Kędzierzyn and Raszowa.
A replica of "Korfanty" can be admired today at the Museum of Insurrection on Góra św. Anna.
