The Lighthouse of Montedor, located on a promontory about 8 km north of the mouth of the Lima river, is the most northerly lighthouse in Portugal, operating since March 20, 1910. The quadrangular granite tower with a height of 28 meters with the hill puts the lantern and red-painted service balcony to 103 meters above sea level. It might be open to the public on Wednesdays at 2pm.
