The temple in Suchy Dęba was built by the Teutonic Knights in the second half of the 14th century and served Catholics until the mid-16th century.
Around 1560, the church was taken over by Protestants and remained in their hands until 1945.
In 1732, a half-timbered tower was added.
In the spring of 1945, the church was completely destroyed by Soviet troops. Only the building of the pastor's house adjacent to the church has survived, in which in 1948 the chapel of St. Anna, as a branch of the parish of St. John the Baptist in Giemlice.
After the church was rebuilt, Bishop Kazimierz Kluz consecrated it on March 11, 1978.
