If approaching form Janets Foss, you will come to the base of the waterfall section. In summer and early spring/autumn you will be able to hike up the waterfall face with some care. This is a higher grade scramble and will require some skill. Part of the route up is technical if you're around 5ft 3 as we found out - meaning I had to straddle a piece of rock. Well worth the hike and scramble up for the views of the waterfall and scar from above - the rock formations are amazing as you'll see from the photos. If you're not keen on scrambling, you can go around to the top and drop in with a short but steep hike to get a view of the scar. Be aware - in winter this area will get slippery with ice, snow and heavy rain which may make some areas less accessible. Take appropriate risks and bring provisions.
