The steps up to the Cove are a nice little challenge. Enjoyable to walk up with others, as the shared experience leads to a few 'hellos' and a little humour. Once you get to the top it's nice to sit on the Cove and 'people-watch' to see the various 'conditions' that people arrive in, that's when you have managed to catch your own breath of course!

Hmmm, hikers heaven or hell?... However you view steps, once visiting the very base of the cove, do make the effort to go to the top as the rewards are worth it. Everybody stops on these steps, whether to rest, take in the views, or pretend their taking in the views as to not look out of breath. It happens to us all.. The top on the limestone rocks is a great place to stop for lunch, or continue the walk up to Malham Tarn

I love Tom's comment, questioning whether they're hiker's heaven or hell! I love them! Steep but if you get your head down you're rewarded quickly with the views from the top 😍
