Settler's house from the 1770s. The Banat Swabians moved to Germany in the 1980s. Some houses are empty and dilapidated, others live in Gypsies. Satchinez (German Knees, Hungarian Temeskenéz) is a municipality in the Timiş county, in the Banat region, in southwestern Romania. Documented the place was first mentioned in medieval documents (1332-1337) under the name Kenez.
