Bastion B is the most complete fortification within the Nieuwe Bossche Fronten and was part of the inundation works. A culvert runs straight through the point of the bastion, via which the water of the Jeker could be guided past the bear. Halfway through the tunnel of this culvert there is a vertical shaft, which contained a mechanism that made the culvert lockable from the terreplein above.
