A classic World War I military road that is still in use today. The surface of the route is concrete throughout. Natural growth is regularly cut by the authorities (I experienced it myself; the workers are happy to let you pass).

The rewarding climb by bike offers eight magical hairpin bends and ends at the military gate. To the left of the gate is a hiking trail that leads around the perimeter fence. I recommend walking the path for 50 to 100 meters, as it offers a magnificent view of Gorizia and far into the upper Adriatic.

Along the route, two hairpin bends offer overpasses to the former St. Valentine's Church and the "Park of Peace," an open-air museum on the Slovenian side. Both routes lead to the destination on gravel. Towards the former St. Valentine's Church, the trail ends very rocky with sharp karst rocks, and at the end, there is a 30-meter push section. Towards Slovenia, it is very easy to cycle through the forest.
