Leben or later Lebena (ancient Greek Λεβήν, Λεβήνα) was an ancient city on the south coast of the Greek island of Crete. It was located near the present-day town of Lendas. On the Tabula Peutingeriana it is listed under the name Ledena. The city was one of the ports of Gortyn, the capital of the province of Creta et Cyrene in Roman times. In Leben there was a nationally known Asklepieion, a sanctuary dedicated to the god of healing Asclepius, of which remains have been preserved (Wiki). There are several scattered excavation sites.
