It is worth taking a moment to read the commemorative plaque and understand what exactly is hidden under the name: "Radosława Rondo".

The "Radosław" group was the strongest and most elite group of the Home Army fighting in the Warsaw Uprising. It consisted of relatively well-armed and seasoned in skirmishes with the Germans units of the Kedyw of the Home Army Headquarters, including the famous "Zośka" and "Parasol" scout battalions.

    The content of the plaque:

"In the area of the current roundabout and on the ruins of the ghetto during the Warsaw Uprising from August 1 to 11, 1944, the group ("Radosław") fought heavy battles with overwhelming German forces. The commander of the "Miotła" Battalion, Major Franciszek Mazurkiewicz "Niebora", was killed in these battles.

The group, consisting of over 2,200 soldiers under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Jan Mazurkiewicz "Radosław", consisted of select units of the Home Army: Battalions: "Czata 49", "Miotła", "Parasol", "Pięść", "Zośka", the "Wacek" armoured platoon, the "Kolegium A" unit, the women's "Dysk" unit, which during the Uprising from August 1 to October 2, 1944 fought on the combat trail from Wola through Powązki, Muranów, the Old Town, Czerniaków, Mokotów to Śródmieście.

In the Warsaw Uprising, approximately 1,400 soldiers of the Home Army Group "Radosław" were killed or died as a result of wounds."

A beautiful patriotic element of Warsaw.

The AK Group "Radosław" roundabout is an important transport hub in Warsaw, located on the border of Powązki and Muranów, between the Śródmieście and Wola districts. It connects Jana Pawła II Avenue, Zygmunta Słomińskiego Street and Okopowa Street.

Until 2001, it was called the Babka roundabout, given in the 1950s due to the shape of the earth embankment. Despite the official change of name in honour of the AK Group "Radosław", which fought in the Warsaw Uprising, the old name is still used, for example in the name of the nearby Babka Tower complex.

The roundabout played a key role in road traffic - in the times of the Polish People's Republic, the international route E81 ran through it, and later national roads no. 7 and 634. In 2008 and 2011, changes were introduced to traffic organization, traffic lights were added and the features of a turbine roundabout were given. In the future, it is planned to route part of the traffic in a tunnel.

There are two important historical elements at the roundabout: a stone with a plaque dedicated to the "Radosław" Group (unveiled in 2004) and the 60-meter Freedom Mast, erected in 2014 to commemorate the Warsaw Uprising.
