The village church Zurich was built in 1864 and replaced a 1772 demolished church. The tower of the old church stopped, but was radically rebuilt in 1913, when the church was restored from the outside. The church and the tower were then given a "cloak" in neo-renaissance style, which is quite rare in Fryslân.
