One of the most popular sights in Meyenburg is the main or large grain mill. It was built around 1250 by the Meyenburg lords on their own land with a mill pond of around two hectares. Three other mills on the Aschwarden flood ditch have since disappeared. After the fire in 1830, the water mill was rebuilt and rebuilt again in 1856. In 1840/41 the water wheel was replaced by a more powerful turbine. In 1970, after damage to the turbine shaft, the last miller, Johann Iggena, gave up the business. The mill has since been rebuilt in its former glory, the turbine house was demolished and the large water wheel was put back in its original place. The mill now houses a local history room.
