The old railway line between Göttingen and Dransfeld has fortunately become a cycle path, but it can get quite muddy in wet weather. Above Göttingen, just before the path enters the forest, if the visibility is good, you can get a great view of the Leine valley and Göttingen through the gaps in the vegetation.

Personally, I find railway cycle paths generally ugly, as there is nothing worth seeing apart from buildings and bridges. Cycle paths must be winding and not always straight. Railway lines should have tracks, not cycle paths
